If you have been touched by the teachings, if you have been moved by the center, the beauty of the desert and our commitment to serve all our communities, make a donation to Dhamma Dena.
Whether you’re able to give: $25, $100, $500, $1,000 or any amount you are moved to offer, your donation will directly support nourishing meals and care for the land, wages, accessibility, maintenance that the desert constantly demands and the many things staff and volunteers do.

Dāna is a Sanskrit and Pali word for the virtue of generosity. The Buddha said the teachings were priceless, more valuable than all the jewels in the kingdom and so are offered freely to all. This has amazingly been sustained for 2,600 years. Honoring this tradition, the teachings and facilities at Dhamma Dena continue to be offered freely.
Voluntary donations from those that haved benefited from these teachings and this center and want to see them continue to be offered freely are the only source of income for the teachers and Dhamma Dena.
“It is a beautiful quality, an opening of the heart into sharing. It provides an atmosphere of non-separateness and an expression of unity. It is the selfless manifestation of non-greed and non-attachment. It is the practice of all religions and is the basis of all spiritual growth."
― Ruth Denison
“When I contemplate the blessings in my life, coming into contact with the dharma is one I am so very grateful for. The practice and the teachers who have guided me have transformed my life."
― Arinna Weisman
Joining the Stewardship Circle is an opportunity to practice this beautiful heart quality while sustaining our community, this land, and everything it takes to tend this precious refuge.
By offering $25 or more each month, Stewardship Circle members sustain everything we do here.
A list of necessities for operating, improving and maintaining our facilities and running our programs can be found on Dhamma Dena's Wish List. Big improvement items include a dish sanitizer, solar panels and a six burner stove. We also need new vacuum cleaners that can handle all the rocks that get inside! Grey water soap, castille soap, fragrance free products, tea, and toilet paper are onging items we use. The kitchen would also love a Vitamix blender.
We'd love if you bought these items somewhere other than Amazon, but are using the site to host our wish list for the time being. If you have a good quality used item on the list, that's great too!
Please mail items to our PO Box: Dhamma Dena Meditation Center, PO Box 183, Joshua Tree, CA 92252.
