A Time for Healing: Disentangling from Doubt

A Retreat with Arinna Weisman and Katy Wiss

June 4, 2022 | 10 AM - 2 PM PT | Online

This day is being offered in celebration of Arinna's 72nd birthday.

Often when we find ourselves lost, far away from our hearts or our wisdom, doubt can be the culprit. Doubt entangles our energies in a cloud of obscurity and misdirects us away from the path of healing and awakening.

This day will be dedicated to exploring these dynamics and calling in faith as the antidote to doubt. Faith is considered the leader or quality of mind that brings along the other beautiful energies of the heart and redirects us towards our well being and happiness.

This is a Dāna supported retreat

Dāna (दान) is a Sanskrit and Pali word for the virtue of generosity. The Buddha said the teachings were priceless, more valuable than all the jewels in the kingdom and so are offered freely to all. This has amazingly been sustained for 2,600 years. Honoring this tradition, the teachings at Dhamma Dena continue to be offered freely.

Teacher and center support is provided by voluntary donations. These offerings are often the only source of teachers’ income and an important source for the center.

Arinna Weisman

Arinna Weisman has studied insight meditation since 1979 and has been teaching since 1989. Her root teacher is Ruth Denison who was empowered by the great teacher U Bha Khin. She is the founding teacher of Insight Meditation Center of the Pioneer Valley. She is co-author of the book, A Beginner’s Guide to Insight Meditation and a contributor to Women Practicing Buddhism; American Experiences, edited by Peter Gregory and Susanne Mrozik.

Her dharma practice and teaching have been infused with her political and environmental activism. She was the first out queer teacher with Eric Kolvig to lead insight meditation retreats for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Gender Queer community. She also leads ‘Uncovering the Heart Retreats’ integrating the practice of awareness of the social dynamics of inequity with the dharma practice of liberation.
