Experience Joy & Compassion in Community: Winter QTPOC Retreat

A Residential Retreat with Ramón Honea, Fresh “Lev” White and others to be announced

December 14-18, 2022

WINTER 2022 QTPOC RETREAT

DECEMBER 14 - 18, 2022 | in-person, residential retreat

Let’s enhance the season with compassion and joy together! As queer, trans, gender-fabulous, and intersex People of Color we may find themselves at odds with all the celebration and joy during the holidays. Particularly this year with emboldened media attacks on our bodies and attempts to control our choices to live authentically, many of us may find ourselves left out and alone – separate from the families and communities that we need.

Please join in creating a refuge where we can meet each other as we are with compassion, as we also fuse in meditation, ritual, dharma, and music that encourages joy. We’ll experience silence, nature walking, altar making, and dancing along with lots of freedom and opportunities to rest.

This retreat welcomes all self-identified people of color who are LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual, and beyond). Our retreat is suited for new and seasoned practitioners of meditation.

If you have any questions about registration, please feel free to contact us at retreats@dhammadena.org

This retreat is being offered on a sliding scale of suggested donations, with no one turned away for lack of funds. Please pay as you are able and be as generous as possible to support others who may have fewer financial resources.

Suggested Donation $80 – $300 includes room and board, with a good array of snack options.

– Subsidized Rate: $80 Intended for people in need of financial support, which breaks down to $20/day.

– Base Rate: $160 This is the suggested base rate which breaks down to $40/day.

– Supporter Rate: $200 or more. This is the base rate plus funds to support other QTIPOC practitioners for whom the base price is not financially possible.

For this retreat to be possible we rely on people who have the means to pay at a higher rate. If you’d like to make a donation beyond this, you’ll have the option to do this on the registration page.

Thank you for paying what you can to attend and/or making a donation to the retreat!

Payment Plan Option: For those whom the total payment in full is not possible we offer payment plans to work with your budget. For example, 6 payments of $10 for the Subsidized Rate.

Teacher Dana: In addition to registration donations, there will be an opportunity to give dana (a donation) to the teachers at the end of the retreat.
