Vipassana Retreat with Arinna Weisman
Mar 27-31, 2020
This Vipassana retreat offers a supportive time to come together in community to explore in silence and dialogue the unfolding of our lives in the practice environment of awareness and love. Meditation practice in community affirms the possibility of our awakening, helps to create the conditions for this awakening, and grounds us in the knowledge that we are not alone in this endeavor. The Path of Insight Meditation does not ask us to reject ourselves, ignore what is difficult or fall into denial, but to cultivate awareness and acceptance of how things are. This is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. Instructions, dharma talks, lovingkindness meditation and regular meetings will support our practice. Suitable for both new and experienced meditators.

About the Instructor
Arinna Weisman first studied with Ruth Denison in the Fall of 1979. She became a devoted student and was empowered to teach by Ruth in 1988. She is the founding teacher of Insight Meditation Center of the Pioneer Valley, co-author of the book, A Beginner’s Guide to Insight Meditation and a contributor to Women Practicing Buddhism: American Experiences, edited by Peter Gregory and Susanne Mrozik.

She was the first out queer teacher with Eric Kolvig to lead insight meditation retreats for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Gender Queer community. She also leads ‘Uncovering the Heart Retreats’ integrating the practice of awareness of the social dynamics of inequity with the dharma practice of liberation.
